Having read and heard about the stimulus bill, blah, blah, blah, I am very perplexed about something.
The stimulus package is supposed to be (as its proponents would have you believe) primarily for roads, bridges, infrastructure, etc. [I won’t go into what the other 95% is really for at this time]. And is to help states, counties, and cities with their budgeting shortfalls.
Simple question: If the Feds and the states, et al, have, over the years, budgeted for infrastructure issues and have collected revenues for the same, how is it that all of a sudden all of these government entities are in the red?
What have they been doing with the funds all these years? I’m sure at least one or two states/counties/cities used the money for some infrastructure issues. Haven’t they?
If they have, then why do the taxpayers have to put even more money into the pot? If they have not, then where did the money go?
Note: 37 Days and I still haven't heard back from my Congressional representatives.
