My first Blog entry

So begins my journey into blog-dom. Hopefully I have found a place where I can express my opinions on the myriad of topics out there in the world that cause me to have high blood pressure, stomach acid, bad attitude and general hostile feelings! LOL

Although I hope to present most things with a sense of humor, it should not be assumed the seriousness of a topic is any less important to me. The realization that our political system, media control, and freedoms do not truly allow the average joe an avenue of uncensored expression is why I feel the internet has been one of the great technological innovations. Here, at least, one can express an opinion and know someone, somewhere will see it; whether or not they agree with it is a different issue, but at least one can get it off his/her chest. Very therapeutic.

Speaking of "his/her", I should tell you upfront I am chauvanistic in my outlook: women's lib, feminism (and general political correctness) are some of my favorite topics (targets). Nor does my wife look upon them favorably. My wife has her own mind, opinions, ways of doing things and was a stay-at-home mom by choice (and we are glad she was); she never needed feminine activism to direct her life or activities. My wife and I have been married a very long time (35+ years); I still open doors for her, I carry the heavy bags/boxes, etc., I treat her like the lady she is and I will continue to do so. Oh, and if you (if you are a female) and I ever arrive at a door at the same time, trust me, I will open the door for you and let you proceed first. That is the way things are in My World.

Anyway, enough for now. I am going to watch the news now...that ought to really crank me up!!
